Being Random: liquify ≠ liquefy

    Liquify is a variant of liquefy, so it's not necessarily "wrong", but the original spelling is l-i-q-u-e-f-y.
    Etymology: Fr liquefier < L liquefacere: see liquid & -fy

    I'll admit that I got a little picky with this one.

    No problem; I just construed your usual X ≠ Y model as X being common, improper spelling and Y as the proper one. No doubt that it's true within its own context.
